A copyright policy
We now have a clear process for copyright takedown notices and counter-notices.
LinkLynx hosts the images you upload and the videos made from them, so we published a copyright policy. It explains how rights holders can report infringing content, how we respond, and how to counter-notice if something was removed by mistake.
You can find it in the footer, and it is linked from the Terms of Service.
Your cookie choices
Visitors from the UK, EU and Switzerland now get a say before analytics switch on.
If you visit from the UK, the EU or Switzerland, a small bar now asks before we use analytics cookies or session recordings. Accept, reject, or choose, and change your mind any time with Cookie settings in the footer. We also honor Global Privacy Control as a no. Everywhere else, nothing changes.
A clearer privacy policy
The privacy policy now names every service that handles your data, and what for.
We rewrote the privacy policy in plain language, so you can see exactly who handles your data and how to ask us about it.
More accurate stats
Time on page is no longer inflated, middle-clicks now count, and your chart shows every day.
I went through the whole analytics pipeline this week and found a few things that made your numbers less honest than they should be.
- Time on page. Each visit was being reported many times over. It is now counted once, and it works on phones too.
- Middle-clicks. Opening a card in a new tab with a middle-click was not counted as a click. Now it is.
- The chart. Days with no traffic used to be skipped, so a quiet week looked like a few fat bars. Every day now shows up.
- Errors. If your stats fail to load, you now get a message instead of a wall of zeros.
Your past numbers are unchanged. Counting from here is just more accurate.
Your videos are yours
Cancel anytime and your videos stay on your page. We now say so, right where you decide.
A fair question we had not answered clearly: what happens to your videos if you cancel?
They stay. Cancelling never deletes a video, and your page keeps playing them. You can still switch between the takes you already made. What stops is new monthly videos, until you upgrade again. Unused bonus videos from invites keep their own 90 day expiry and still work until then.
You will now find that answer in the FAQ, on the pricing page, in the upgrade dialog, and as a hint on the Billing button.
Make something you would not mind keeping.

A note when your invite pays off
When a creator you invited subscribes, we now email you so you know your 3 bonus videos have landed.
Invite a creator, and when they subscribe to Premium or Studio you earn 3 cinematic videos. Until now you had to notice for yourself.
Now we send you a short email the moment the reward lands, with a button straight to your editor. We never share who subscribed beyond their public username.
Takes, for your videos
Every video you generate is now kept as a take. Preview them side by side and pick the one you love.
Until now, generating a new video replaced the old one for good. If the new one was not as good, too bad.
That changes today. Every video you generate for a card is kept as a take, and the card editor shows them as a small filmstrip under your live video. Hover to preview one, select it, and press "Use this take". Your page updates right away.
- New take. "Regenerate" is now "New take". It uses your videos exactly as before.
- Nothing lost. Older videos you already made show up as takes too.
- Cleaner deletes. Deleting a card or a section now deletes its videos for real. If a video was still rendering, it is cancelled and your video credit comes back.
Pick your best angle. A lynx always does.
Upload your own photos
Click your profile photo or drop an image on a card to upload it. No more hunting for image links.
You asked, and the avatar clicks in the editor made it very clear: people expect to click a photo and change it. Now you can.
- Profile photo. Click it, or drop an image on it. We crop it square and keep it sharp.
- Card thumbnails. Paste a link and we still grab the image for you. Want a different one? Replace it, drop one in, or paste an image with Cmd+V.
- Private by default. We shrink every photo before it uploads, which also strips hidden location data from your camera.
- Broken images, fixed. Links that start with http now load, and a picture that fails shows your initials or a branded cover instead of an empty box.
Image links still work if you have one handy. A lynx never turns down a shortcut.

The lynx shows up for every share
Every LinkLynx share preview now carries our lynx instead of a plain letter.
Small one. Link previews for creator pages, comparisons, the changelog and every other page now feature the lynx. A cat this photogenic should not hide behind an "L".
Better previews when you share us
Comparison pages and the changelog now show a proper preview image when you paste them into a chat or a post.
Paste a LinkLynx comparison page into a message and you used to get a bare text link. The changelog got the same generic picture as everywhere else. Now both carry their own branded preview.
- Comparison pages. Each one shows "LinkLynx vs" the tool in question, plus three things only we do.
- Changelog. Shows the latest version and what shipped.
A small thing, but a lynx likes to be recognized from a distance.
